Freedom
Dreaming

Curation/Exhibition Design

"Freedom Dreaming" at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design was more than just an exhibition. It served as a catalyst for envisioning and actively pursuing a future rooted in equality and empowerment. Curated for Black History Month, this showcase drew inspiration from the theory of "freedom dreaming" coined by Robin D. G. Kelly, inviting artists to explore and interpret this concept through their work.

I led the creation of a temporary identity, capturing the essence of "Freedom Dreaming" through a thoughtfully crafted word mark. Additionally, I designed, cut, and installed vinyl elements that served as both visual enhancements and signage. Beyond visual elements, my role extended to curating a collection of revolutionary books by Black authors, enriching the exhibition experience with diverse perspectives and historical context. "Freedom Dreaming" transcended its role as a mere exhibition, evolving into a dynamic platform for dialogue, reflection, and action.
